Progress

I was doing really well. I hit 20,000 words a week early. Then my story came to a screeching halt. This happened to me the first year too. I had worked out a plot for the initial part of the book and flew like the wind. When I came to where I had only a basic plot, but had not worked out the scenes and sequences, I came to a grinding halt.

As I care a lot about the quality of the work in progress, I have decided to set it aside, but keep the word count because I did write it in November, and start a new story from scratch. Here's hoping it works.

I'm sorry your first story came to a grinding halt. I hope the second one works out much better. :-)
Thank you, Rusty. The first story is serious so I'm writing a fun one instead. I already have an alien (I've never written an alien), a girl whose belly is growing quicker than pregnancy would allow, and a guy who is lost in the woods with an injured leg. They are not together in the story yet so I'm following each one separately at the moment. Yup, I think this one's going to be fun to write.
