Was it worth it?

You betcha. All that time spent getting the house in tip-top shape is paying off.

We got an offer on the house this morning. We have submitted a counteroffer. The anticipated closing is September 30. That's a little sooner than expected.

We applied to rent an apartment on October 1. With a closing sooner, I called the agent to see if we can get the apartment that is available on September 1. We're hoping it is still available. We should hear about it some time mid-week.

Of course, I am missing sleep for all the worry about contingency plans and how the heck we'll fit way too much stuff from the very full three bedroom house into a two bedroom apartment.

Busy, busy.

Congratulations once again for managing to get an offer on your house so quickly! I hope you'll be able to get the apartment that's available on September 1st. Buildings often offer storage space. Maybe you could store some of your furniture there if it doesn't all fit in your apartment.
Alas, the building into which we are moving has only six apartments and no storage facilities. We must store everything in the apartment. Oh, and it has a wonderful kitchen and dining room; but a tiny living room. I don't know where I'm going to store the contents of my 15' x 15' sewing/craft studio. We are getting two bedrooms; and the "spare" is going to be an office for both of us to share.

I'm looking forward to getting into the new place. I'll join Curves again. It is only 400 meters away. If I can't walk that far, I really, really need to join. lol
