We're alive!

Yay! We survived the dreaded trip to my mother-in-law's house. It was restful while we were there; but I really hate the 8-9 hour drive in each direction.

On the positive side, hubby loved the Tilley hat I gave him. I am very happy with teflon wiper blades and US dollars for my trip. We give such romantic gifts.

I'm glad you survived the dreaded trip to your mother-in-law's house. I don't blame you for not looking forward to it considering that it's an 8-9 hour drive in each direction! *shudder*

The gifts you and your husband exchanged may not be romantic, but they're certainly thoughtful and probably have more meaning because they show how well you know each other. :-)
Oh the car trip was extra delightful because we had to drive through the middle of Toronto to drop off and then pick up my step-son. That added about 45 minutes to an hour each way. The good part is that we're home now.

We have always liked practical gifts as we are both rather practical people. In fact, my birthday present this year was getting my snow tires put on my car for the season. It saved me having to pay for it so I was very happy. After 23 years, we should know each other reasonably well.
