Writer's Block: By Any Other Name

If you could rename yourself in real life, what would you choose, and why?

Decisions. Decisions.

I like Elizabeth for the capital E that can be written with a flourish and the variety of short forms.

I like Eleanor for the flourishy capital E and just the sound of the name.

I also like Lavender (from the Gordon Lightfoot song, "Approaching Lavender") for the flourishy capital L and the sound of it.

I already used Elizabeth as a character name in my first NaNoWriMo novel (2005). I will likely use the other two in future writings as well.

I once read that to make up "soap opera" names, you take your middle name for your first name and your street name for your last name. I would be Jayne Rutherford. It seems to work.

I figured that since we've been married 25 years it might be safe to get something permanent. This is less than 24 hours old.

We made it! It is our 25th anniversary today. We had a lovely weekend just spending time with each other. We didn't really do anything special…
