Long weekend

I hate to say it, but thank goodness the long weekend is over. I spent the entire long weekend in bed debating whether to make the effort to go to the walk-in clinic. I've been sick since Polaris (about two weeks) and it just got worse and worse. I lost 14 pounds in 14 days, partly because I was trying to (that accounts for about 5) and partly because my throat was so sore I couldn't swallow. I am feeling slightly better...I can finally swallow and put back 2 of those pounds. I never did get enough energy to drive 35 kilometers to the walk-in clinic.

Here's hoping the intended weight loss continues, but the illness goes away.

Oh, no! I'm sorry you've been sick since Polaris! That sucks! :-( Get better soon, okay?

It's wonderful that you've lost weight, but hopefully any future weight loss can occur while you're healthy. You've probably got your own weight loss plan, but if you're looking for any guidance then I highly recommend G.I. Diet. It did wonders for me.
Thanks, Rusty. I tried the G.I. Diet, and Atkins, and Weight Watchers, and Diet Center, and...ad nauseum. I even tried specific instructions from my doctor. They all had one major problem for me. They are all "diets". If I have to cut out or restrict a particular food, I will not stick with it. As soon as I start thinking like that I just keep thinking about "when this diet is over, I can go back to eating...." Nope, my plan this time is all my own. I am eating the same things I eat now, just less. And, once I have recovered from this nasty cold, I will walk more and start (maybe) doing Pilates at home. Let's see how the walking works first.

Now that I am beginning to recover from being sick, I've put back two pounds. I'm not upset because I assume it was dehydration weight.
