Star Trek Meme

Borrowed from seanchaidh . *looks around with shifty eyes*

1. What is your favorite Star Trek movie? (not including STXI)?

The Voyage Home. I love the humour in it.

2. What is your favorite scene in STXI?

When Bones meets Kirk and is grumbling about space and ex-wives.

3. When were you first introduced to the Star Trek franchise?

My brother-in-law introduced me to TOS when I stayed at their house for a week of "special enrichment" classes at Carleton University when I was in high school. (The classes taught me that I don't want to be a philosopher.)

4. Is there anything Star Trek around the room in which you're currently sitting?

Nothing here, but I'm at work.

5. Vulcan ears are: A) cute, B) sexy, C) neither, D) both.

More prone to frostbite on the narrow tip.

6. If you could be any other species than human in the Star Trek universe, you would be:

Ferengi, specifically Quark and Rom's mother.

7. Which pet would you rather have: a sehlat or a tribble?

8. Who might you cast in the role of reboot Nurse Chapel? Khan? Other reboot character?

I haven't thought about it specifically because I don't want to be bitterly disappointed.

9. Kirk and Spock are:

10. If you could give any Star Trek character a chance to be captain of the Enterprise, who would it be?

BONUS. Think fast! Give one Star Trek quote from memory:

"Khaaaaaaaaan!" - Yes, I've seen too many ads on Space.

"He's dead, Jim."

The books I am reading: "Administrative Medical Assisting" and "Beginning Medical Transcription." The plot and characterization are lacking, but the vocabulary is out of this world.

The book I am writing: "Consequences" is the subtitle of part one. I won't have a title for the whole thing until it is done.

The book I love most: "Armand Dussault and Other Poems" by Wilson MacDonald.

The last book I received as a gift: Mosby's Medical Dictonary.

The last book I gave as a gift: The Gay Companion; Or, Wit At A Venture. A Choice Collection Of Bon-mots, Repartees, Funny Jests, &c

The nearest book on my desk: DK Illustrated Oxford Dictionary

Ack! I have a cold in time for the weekend. I even came home four hours early and slept for about five hours.

I was hoping to clean the apartment this weekend, but it looks like I'll be stuck in bed with a box of Kleenex.

Eventful lunch

I had lunch with my stepson on Wednesday. As we were walking to East Side Marios, we noticed a pickup truck in the intersection that was not moving even though there was a line of cars behind it. The driver was having a seizure. Stepson went to check on him and I called 911. Another two guys stopped to help. They turned off the truck and determined he was having a diabetic seizure. Coke was provided, but the seizure was bad enough that he sort of fell from the vehicle and needed to be caught and then restrained for his own safety. Finally, the paramedics arrived and we went on our way. We felt good that we had noticed and helped.
