Ack! I'm old

I dye my hair because I don't like my natural colour (dirty blonde). Today I found several short silver hairs. They are a little over an inch long. They either grew really fast or didn't accept the dye because they are longer than my roots. As they are all about the same length and very fine, I'm going to say they grew fast. Anyway, I'm off to dye my hair again. This time, I'm trying a slightly different shade of red.

I'm not familiar with home dye, but your story makes me wonder if grey hair requires a different/special kind of dye. Might be something your drugstore would know.

Hope your second take will do the trick.
I think these small hairs grew in since I last dyed my hair, so I don't think it was a matter that the previous dye did not cover it. That said, I have changed dyes because the one I was using stripped my hair and made it dry and horrible. The new dye makes it soft and I can get a comb through it. Oh, and the new colour is much nicer. Silvers are covered and look like highlights rather than silver.
Huzzay for the new dye! Really a step upwards.
Definitely.
If it makes you feel any better, I've started finding a bit of grey in my hair too. I'm guessing it won't be too long before I'm also dyeing it.

Hope your second dye job does the trick!
New colour is great. Hubby told me the silvers I saw were actually just pale blonde; but I don't believe him.
